In order to promote football as a professional American game and to regulate teams, the owners of 11 football teams across the USA formed a professional football association in 1920. This association would later become known as the National Football League (NFL). The original name of the association was the American Professional Football Association, which later was changed to the American Football League in 1921 and finally to the NFL in 1922.

There are two divisions of the National Football League, the AFC (American Football Conference) and the NFC (National Football Conference). Each conference has four divisions with 4 teams in each division. The primary objective of the NFL is to promote the game, set the regular season schedule of competitors and to host a playoff game, the world championship, known as the Super Bowl.

The National Football League sets a seventeen-week schedule in which each team will play 16 games, with one week off. The regular season normally begins on the first Thursday after Labor Day (September 1) and will end in late December or early January. When the regular schedule is completed, the top 6 teams from each conference will face off in the playoff tournaments to determine the top two teams. The 2 winning teams of the playoff games will graduate to the Super Bowl.

In addition to the schedules and the administration of professional football, the National Football League also promotes and owns all rights to the Super Bowl, including picking the host stadium for the annual event. That task is accomplished through a bidding process in which a host city will make a proposal to the National Football League for the Super Bowl to be held in their city.

The National Football League has strict requirements for Host cities, one of which is the seating capacity of the stadium. Recently, many cities with a football team have built new stadiums with larger capacities to meet this important NFL requirement. Another consideration is the impact the super Bowl will have on the area. For example, when Jacksonville hosted their first Super Bowl in 2005 (Super Bowl XXXIX), they had several problems that put a strain on local resources, one of which was the enormous amount of people using the public bathrooms that caused an unanticipated strain on the local wastewater plant.

Although occassionally such problems may arise, the National Football League has been the driving force behind making football a great American pastime in the same respect as America’s other favorite sport of Baseball.

In the fantasy sports world, fantasy baseball clinches a unique position. The game is entirely based on the statistics of the real-life players. As the name itself suggests, fantasy baseball players manage make-believe teams where they rely on the actual players performance to carry on with their game. Since baseball is the national sport of the USA, it is not surprising that lots of its residents too pay special attention to its fantasy version.

Winning a championship is the main objective of a fantasy sport. This is right as regards fantasy baseball as well. The best way to go about playing it is to get prepared well in advance of the beginning of the season by making yourself familiar with all the information about baseball players and their statistics. Having signed up with a public association or starting one. Then, as you wish, you can have a live draft or an automatic draft. It is advantageous to go for a live draft where you can have you own say in selecting the players.

Then you come to setting you player rankings. Though it is set to a default ranking, you can change it according to what you think where the player stands going by his statistics. Though previous years rankings are normally used to do this, you can fall back on two year and three year trends as well as projected stats for the next season. Since the rankings are thought to mirror how important you consider a player is to your team in fantasy baseball, you should take utmost care in working out the rankings.

It is absolutely essential that you should keep in mind that fantasy baseball involves a lot of analysis, thinking and strategy. At the same time, it is all about statistics. So, mixing these ingredients with a pinch of some luck on the draft day will certainly help you rope in the most ideal team for your fantasy baseball game. However, precautions should be employed when you take the advice of the experts on the rankings as they are liable to add a little bit too much than really is there. So, use your common sense in arriving at a final decision on the formation of your team.

Fantasy baseball both enjoyable and aggressive. Therefore, make sure that you draft wisely in order to post wins.

Dixie Youth Baseball was originated in the year 1955 in South Carolina. Having broken away from Little League organization of Pennsylvania, all-white teams, numbering sixty-one, conducted their own tournament. The sole intention of establishing an organization that would provide pre-teens with a programme of baseball playing was thus activated and Little Boys Baseball, Inc. saw the light of the day. In 1962, it was renamed Dixie Youth Baseball, Inc..

Initially, 12 leagues and 537 teams were associated with the formation of this sporting body. Anyway, with the passage of time, it has become the second largest youth baseball programme for pre-teens under the age of 12 years. Though at the outset it was a segregated tournament, now they have shed all the racial restrictions and welcome players of any ethnicity, race or color. Michael Jordan, Reggie Sanders and Bo Jackson were some of the prominent players who had taken part in the programme.

At present, in eleven Southern states, there are hundreds of Dixie Youth Baseball leagues. The reason for this phenomenal increase in numbers is due to the fact that Dixie Youth Baseball has the youngsters’ welfare at heart. It believes that a properly supervised baseball programme is instrumental in preparing a child for future challenges in life.
A National Board of Directors, elected by the affiliated leagues, governs the Dixie Youth Baseball. Diagonally opposed to similar organizations, the officials from the local level to the top at the Dixie Youth Baseball do not receive any emoluments for their services. All of them are volunteers who are quite conversant with the needs of the pre-teens.

There is a set of basic rules for Dixie Youth Baseball. Team restriction is a maximum of fifteen players with no more than eight 12 year-old participants. Four, five or six teams make up leagues. Affiliated leagues are allowed to play no more than 25 and not less than 15 games per season. Eligibility for participation in the games is for those who attain the age 0f 13 on or after August 1. .

One of the striking features of the Dixie Youth Baseball is the sponsoring of educational scholarships for former players. Highly recommended seniors who are former players are required to furnish evidence for the scholarships. This programme is facilitated by the availability of excess funds from membership fees and other revenue.

In 1919, The Chicago Bears. An independent football club, was formed by George Halas. The following year, the Chicago Bears joined the newly formed NFL (National Footlball League) and made their permanent home in Chicago Illinois. After the AFC and NFC divisions were set up by the NFL, the Chicago Bears joined the NFC’s central division in 1970, and eventually became part of the northern division in 2002.

Since 1983, Virginia Halas McCaskey is listed as the owner of the Chicago Bears, although the Halas family has had a vested interest in the Bears since their beginning in the 1920′s. The current chairman is Michael McCaskey with Jerry Angelo as General Manager and Lovie Smith as head coach.

Prior to the introduction of the World Championship games, the Chicago Bears had won eight titles in their 42 year history (1921-63). Since the beginning of the Super Bowl in 1967, the Chicago Bears have played two super bowls and won once, in 1985. Their lack of winning championships is not from an inability of trying, they have played in twenty-four playoff games since the early 1930s.

The famous Wrigley field was home to the Chicago Bears from 1921 until 1970, when their new stadium Soldier Field was built in 1971. A new soldier Field Stadium was erected in 2003, giving the Bears a new place to call home, however during the 202 season they played at Memorial Stadium until the New Soldier field was finished.

The Chicago Bears are no stranger to the Football Hall of fame, as more than 30 of their players have been inducted as honorees, including former coach and tight end Mike Ditka. Two of the most famous inductees are Dick Butkus (Linebacker) and Walter Payton (Running Back)~Some of the more well-known inductees are linebacker Dick Butkus and running back Walter Payton}.

The Chicago Bears gained national fame through the parodies performed by the Saturday Night Live television series in the 1980s, commonly repeating ‘Da Bears’ in their skits. The SNL crew were poking fun at the Bears, because of their failure to win a Super Bowl. The Chicago Bears finally would shed this image in Super Bowl XX when the overwhelmingly defeated the Patriots 46-10.

Probably one of the most memorable ‘characters’ of the Chicago Bears was Defensive Tackle William “Refrigerator” Perry, also known as the ‘Fridge’. This 320-pound ‘spectacle’ enlivened the fans when he barreled through the line as a blocker or carrying the ball. His large frame did well to support Payton as a blocker during the regular season.

In their appearance at Super Bowl XLI, the Chicago Bears were the underdog to the Indianapolis Colts by 6 1/2 points. The final score was 29-17, Colts. This was the rainiest Super Bowl in History and although the Chicago Bears put forward their best game, they just could not pull it off, despite having a great regular season and strong showing in the Super Bowl.

Baseball is the national game of America and all things, however small it maybe, linked to the game attract the attention of its supporters. Statistics is given prominence in baseball play. The history of the game vouches for this fact. It is worth your while to delve into the reasons behind the popularity of keeping baseball scores.

The story begins in 1800s, the humble beginnings of the sport. It is a tradition that has been preserved to-date. It will keep you occupied throughout a game and give you the feeling that you are a part of the game itself. Moreover, in future you will find the baseball scores you have kept of the games you watched quite valuable. Moreover, it is fun and interesting.

Though there is an official scorer to record the scores, many fans take it upon themselves to carry out this task on their own strictly for enjoyment. The official scorer make a detailed scoring job whilst the fans are not particular about the smallest details. Though baseball scores are kept in a shorthand method, there is no hard and fast rule about this method. A lot of symbols, numbers and letters are utilized for this purpose. Modifications could be done to the formats and score sheets, but the most important thing is to maintain the accuracy of baseball scores so kept.

The Net is a good starting place for all your needs in baseball. For beginners, there are clear-cut tutorials online and downloadable versions too. For official scorers, score books are available online for purchase. For amateurs too, there are sites which offer free downloadable score cards for baseball scores. It may be daunting to master the abbreviations and argot that are used in baseball scorekeeping.

Normally, 2 score cards are utilized for a game, one for the visiting team and another for the home team. On these score sheets, you will find columns allocated for player information, game information, and game totals. Provisions have been made to record every run, hit, steal, out and even pitch. Anyway, baseball scoring is rapidly losing its glamour due to the introduction of sophisticated electronic scoreboards at pro games. In spite of all these, you might note someone recording baseball scores in the venues.

It is a fact that since 1845 the official baseball rules have kept changing with each passing year. In fact, the changes, over the years, have been very few and far between, thus making the baseball rules seem static, which in turn has made it appealing to fans who are keen on following the evolution of the game. Therefore, this game boasts of a very proud history in comparison to other sports.

Baseball is the National Game of the USA. During the past years, it has become popular and earned a reputation as an international game played in well over 100 countries in the world. The observance of the baseball rules by everybody connected with the game will facilitate the continued development of this team game.

Baseball is played between two teams of nine players each in an enclosed field with four bases. The team that notches up greater runs than its rival is declared winner. A batter hits the ball and runs from base to base, touching them. A player is deemed to have scored a run lawfully when he finishes his running through the 4 bases without being ‘out’. In a standard baseball match, there are nine innings, with each innings having 6 outs; Three for each team. However, some leagues may play matches that have fewer innings.According to the baseball rules, at least one official, called umpire, should officiate at a baseball game. Normally 4 umpires officiate at prominent league matches, but depending on the importance and the league participating, this may vary up to 6 umpires.

All professional play in the USA and Canada are governed by the official baseball rules. These rules can be found both in book form and on the internet too. Getting the hang of the baseball rules is not as hard as it seems. But, the beauty of the game lies in the analysis of the situation and the prediction of the possible moves and strategy of the opposition based on the close observation of its players and their behavior.

Initially, baseball rules could be divided into 4 parts. They are: the playing field, pitching and hitting, outs and structure of the baseball game. Getting yourself familiar with the above-mentioned basic baseball rules will not pose you a problem if you put your heart and soul into it.

As all baseball players and fans know, the sport they love is on its way to becoming a truly global sport like football, golf or cricket. This increase in recognition for the sport brings with it the requirement for skilful baseball players who can draw even more crowds to the stadiums. This leaves us with the question of how to nurture promising baseball players so that they are able to achieve greatness.

A head start is extremely useful to baseball players, like other professional sportsmen and women. To be able to play with the best, baseball players shouldnt wait until theyre in high school to start honing their skills. An early start to training and a regular programme of exercise ensures that when they do try out for teams, they have the advantage of an extra year or so of practice over other players. In addition to giving young baseball players extra time to fine-tune their swings and pitching, the extra time help develop strength and stamina.

Growth by association with better players is also an excellent way to develop natural talent. Sometimes just listening and watching can help young baseball players pick up tips on what to do and what to avoid. Good baseball players, no matter how old they are and how much experience they have, always have room to learn something new and they use this to constantly improve their game.

Getting a good coach early on helps as well, by preventing the formation of bad habits, and ensuring that good ones are built in from the beginning. Its more difficult for baseball players who have formed a habit over years of play to correct it, than it is for them to change if its been caught early.

Despite the fact that a coach can have a wide range of talents, one who is a great pitcher, may not necessarily be the best hitter. Baseball players should aim to get the best out of the coachs area of expertise and always listen when another coach offers advice. Possibly, the player may pick up some very useful hints from one coach that the other may not have thought of because he was an expert in a different aspect. The combination of their natural instincts and talent with advice from coaches and their observations of other players is what makes great baseball players successful.
